Students complete 22-mile swim for Sport Relief
On Wednesday 21st March, myself and ten Year 9 students took up the challenge to swim 22 miles - the distance from Dover to Calais - as a team for Sport Relief.
We split 22 miles between 10 people, and everyone was extremely motivated and determined; starting the swim at 7pm with high hopes and an anticipation to reach our goal. Despite feeling tired, all girls persevered and continued to swim mile after mile for approximately 2 hours, ending our swim at 9 pm. By the end we were very tired but very satisfied with our great achievement.
I would personally like to thank Freya Ingham (9ROW) for organising the event, with the help of Mrs Ingham and Mrs Bond – who counted every single length swam by each person. In addition, I would also like to thank all the girls who volunteered to take up the tough challenge, the parents who were able to drop and pick up the girls, Wycombe Leisure Centre for letting us use their pool and of course friends and family for sponsoring us!
The team consisted of: Freya Ingham, Lottie Archer, Jess Teasdale, Millie Russel, Maansa Mahil, Amelia Rae, Meghan Bond, Grace Allen, Annabel Johnson, Lottie Gordon and Presha Thevanathan.
