School's Duke of Edinburgh centre license renewed
Beaconsfield High School is delighted to renew its three-year license as an official centre to run the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. The school was awarded the license renewal in recognition of its high number of students starting the award and its impressive completion rate (73% in the last year alone).
The school continues to maintain its status as a licensed centre because of the value it puts on the skills learned by completing the programme. With an impressive number of students taking on the programme each year, it is a complementary activity to the school's Getting Life Ready initiative, which is designed to build on the skills needed for future success.
The Duke of Edinburgh scheme challenges young people to try something different and push themselves outside of the of their comfort zones. It builds confidence, resilience and skills for work, and is recognised and respected by universities and employers alike.
