Review: National Schools Sailing Championship
By Libby Thompson
Between the 24th and 26th of June my sister Rosie Thompson (8ROW) as crew and I as helm represented Becky High at the National Schools Sailing Championship, at Itchenor Sailing Club in Chichester Harbour, against different schools from all over the country.
We sailed in a boat called a RS Feva, which is a dinghy with three sails and two people in the boat. There were 106 boats all together and as they were all on one start line it was very busy! On Sunday there was one practice race, which we came 16th in and on Monday and Tuesday there were three races each day to constitute the main series.
Overall we were really happy to have come 23rd and third all girl crew, even beating a boat from RGS!
