Celebrating achieving our second-best year of GCSE results in the school's history!
The hard-work and dedication of our Year 11s has clearly paid off, with the number of Level 9 - 8 (A*) at 48%, and half of all the school’s GCSE exams taken topping the grade boundaries. A remarkable 71% of students achieved all Level 9 – 7s (A* - A).
Elizabeth C, Charlotte L and Emily O achieved the phenomenal result of 10 Level 9s - the highest level attainable – across all their exams, made even more impressive as experts predict fewer than 1,000 pupils will achieve clean sweep of top grades.
Emily is looking forward to joining our Sixth Form where she will study maths, chemistry, physics and further maths:
‘I’m ecstatic, elated! I got all 9s in my mocks, but I didn’t think I’d be able to do it again on the actuals exams!’
Emily’s mum, Monika is understandably super proud!
‘I’m so proud of Emily, she worked so hard and I’m delighted all that hard-work paid off!’
A further 5 students (Eleanor B, Holly K-S, Sahar M, Dia S and Sara T) achieved 9 Level 9s and 1 Level 8 (the equivalent of an A*), 85 students achieved 5 or more Level 9 and 8s and 89% of students achieved all Level 9 – 6 (A* - B). The average exam grade for all exams is a Level 7 (A grade) and 100% of students passed English and maths.
‘I remain incredibly proud of all of the students today. I know that today the results are what make everyone smile, but we truly believe that if a student is academically happy and resilient then the results are easier to achieve. For three years, an important strand in our work focusses on the skills of academic resilience and risk taking to help students prepare for their future steps. Without the amazingly hard-working staff and incredibly supportive parent and carer community, the students would not have as much support to get them to the next levels. Well done to each, and every student!’ - Mrs Smith
