Author leads creative writing workshop
Author, Wendy Worley, visited the school today to run a creative writing workshop for selected Y9 and Y10 students. The focus was on writing with all the senses, which is a GCSE exam skill required for descriptive writing.
Wendy has written and published Echoes of Friendship, a book inspired by family history and photos from the First World War. It tells the story of a school trip to the World War One battlefields and a chance for the central character, Andy, to learn the history of his great-grandfather’s struggles and survival in the trenches.
