Swimming
National Schools Team Relay Championships: Back in November at the Division 10 Schools Relay Championships, our girls swam superbly to finish in joint first place overall. As a result of the times swum that night, our senior medley, senior freestyle, junior medley and junior freestyle teams all qualified for the national Schools Finals because their times were in the top 16 in the country. The National Finals took place in Coventry on Saturday 6 February. Our Juniors swam well, but didn’t quite make the grand final. However, the senior squad did qualify in fine style for both finals.
Their final performance was outstanding as they won National Silver medals in the Freestyle and National Bronze medals in the Medley!!
Bucks Schools Swimming Championships: We entered full teams in Junior, Inter and Senior Age groups. More fantastic performances from all of our swimmers meant the Inter Girls and Senior Girls both won their county trophies!!
Netball
National Schools Tournament: Last November, all three netball teams (U19/U16/U14) became County Champions to qualify for the South of England Regional Finals. As a result of some truly outstanding play at the Regionals, the U19s and U14s have qualified for the National Finals to be held at Roedean School Brighton on 20 March!! Over the past few years, we have had 2, 2, 3, 3, and now 2 teams through to national finals – 12 teams in 5 years!! This is an outstanding record and only goes to prove the strength of this sport throughout the school at Becky High.
Gymnastics
National Schools Teams Championships, South of England Regional Round: This competition involves individual floor and vault and a group sequence. Our U16s were lying in first place before the group sequences, but we finished in silver medal position behind Wycombe Abbey, missing out on a place in the National Finals by 0.1 of a point!!
Nationals Schools Floor and Vault Championships: U19 Gymnastics floor and vault team came equal second with Wycombe Abbey at the South of England Regional Championships, missing out on a place in the National Finals by 0.05 of a point to Dr Challoner's High.
