2009 Music Tour to Barcelona

For the second year running the Beaconsfield High School Swing Band set off on tour to Europe, this time Barcelona, where they stayed in the coastal area of Costa Daurada.  Involved were forty-seven students from years 7 to 13.  They performed three concerts on purpose built stages to audiences of up to 300 and were presented with a memento from the local council as a thank-you.

The band stayed at a 4* hotel 100 metres away from a beautiful long sandy beach and between concerts visited the monastery at Montserrat, explored the highlights of Barcelona (which included the Sacrada Familia, Las Ramblas and the Gaudi Gardens) and finally spent a day unwinding at Port Aventura, one of Europe’s largest theme parks.  The trip was a complete success and immensely enjoyed by all!
