“Discovering and Developing Individual Potential”

Friends of Beaconsfield High School

Fundraising

Two year ago the Friends set themselves an ambitious £60,000 target to help fund the transformation of the current LRC and school canteen into a wonderfully rich and innovative Learning Centre for all students with a separate section for the Sixth Form. In previous years we’ve also helped equip the new science lab and fund a mini bus and a new computer lab.

We’ve been working extremely hard to deliver against this and have staged events such as the Tesco Fun Run, the Xmas Fayre and raffle, a Race Night, a Cabaret Evening and various discos. I’m delighted to report that, with a term in hand, we have achieved this target and the school can now confidently sign off the investment as part of the whole strategy to improving and enhancing the schools infrastructure. Moreover we have some more great events planned in this summer term so we are delighted that we can generate this money for the school whilst having a lot of fun along the way. The key is to involve as many parents as possible so nothing is too onerous on one individual.

We also have the Becky High Bonanza, formed to raise funds for use by the school in addition to those raised by our various events.  Half of the subscription income will be returned as prizes and the offer half will be used for school equipment.  Obviously, the greater number of people who contribute the greater the prize.  Membership units cost £15 per year each, payable in advance, and you can buy as many as you like!  Membership is limited to parents or guardians of a student attending Beaconsfield High School, as well as members of staff and the governing body.
