Baroque Choir performs at United Reform Chruch

Caroline Goodall, Head of Music

On Thursday 12th October, Baroque Choir performed a lunchtime concert at the United Reform Church, Beaconsfield. The choir had been invited to perform by one of the organisers who had seen the group in action at last year’s Summer Concert.

Baroque Choir was formed in September 2016 by Amelia Snoxell, a current Year 13 student. Amelia’s love for classical singing spurred her on to form the ensemble, which currently consists of eight members, ranging from Year 9 to Year 13. Over the course of last academic year, the choir went from strength to strength and last May, they performed beautifully in front of The Duchess of Kent.

Last week’s concert at the URC was a true testament to the girls’ hard work over the course of last year. The choir performed five ensemble pieces and then each student performed a solo song. Each performance was poised, polished and confidently performed and I was exceptionally proud of every single member of the choir. They conducted themselves professionally and were a real credit to the school. Amelia should be exceptionally proud of her achievements with her choir and I wish her and the rest of the group the best of luck at next month’s Marlow Music Festival.
